. 1.7K sharesBethesda reveals that one of the most popular PC mods for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Chesko’s Frostfall mod, is making its way to the Xbox One version of the game.Back when Microsoft first announced that, the possibilities had fans excited. So far, we’ve only seen a couple of games take advantage of the feature, but Bethesda has been a big proponent of it, introducing console gamers to mods with Fallout 4, and bringing console mods to the upcoming special edition of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Console mods will be available at launch for, and while we still aren’t sure of all the mods that will release alongside the game, one of its more popular mods has been confirmed, and is already available to download on Xbox One.Frostfall, a mod created by Chesko, adds significant survival game elements to Skyrim. The goal of the Frostfall mod is to make Bethesda’s fantasy epic be more immersive, and feel like a more realistic experience overall. Fans that decide to download Frostfall for Skyrim on consoles will have to fight against more than just; they will also have to contend with the threats of hypothermia and dangerous weather conditions. The mod can be tweaked so that players can customize their Frostfall experience to suit their needs, but the most hardcore players will have to keep in mind the clothes their character is wearing, what time of day it is, and what the weather is like.

Camping is also a central feature of the mod, and it is required for players that hope to survive the harsh elements of Skyrim’s snowy mountains.Besides cranking up the difficulty, the Frostfall mod has other features that players may want to take advantage of. It improves Skyrim‘s snow and ice visuals (or at least, it did before this ), adds new sounds to the game, implements an Endurance skill, and gives players the opportunity to learn 13 new spells not found in the base game.Fans that want to try out the Frostfall mod for themselves should be able to do so as soon as the game launches this coming Friday, October 28th on Xbox One. There should be minimal technical difficulties with the mod, as Chesko already has experience porting PC mods to Xbox, as his was one of the first console mods available. Chesko’s previous console mods have been well-received, and there’s a good chance Frostfall will be downloaded by many Skyrim enthusiasts looking to expand their experience. In the meantime, it will be interesting to see what other mods make their way to Skyrim on consoles. Mods that use licensed material, like the one that adds the to the game, are unlikely to be featured on the service, but there are plenty of other mods in the vein of Frostfall that are possibilities.
Over the next few months, Elder Scrolls fans on consoles should be able to look forward to many mods to enhance their Skyrim adventures. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is available now for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. The Special Edition launches on October 28th for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.Source.

Than you'll also be annoyed at INeed as it works exactly like RND, realism mods just might not be for you. It don't want to have to eat/sleep/drink more often then set if to a higher number and try to not fast travel because it takes more in game hours to fast travle than it does to walk/ride to your destination. The point of realism mods like RND, INeed, Frostfall, ect. Is to make the game feel more immersive and fast travel breaks immersion. With INeed you'll be better able yo tell how hungry you are and when you're hungry thanks to the little UI elements it adds so you don't have to worry about it quite as much as RND, which only has noises to let you know when you need a nap/eat/drink. They share much of the same elements, but with INeed you can have it to where your followers need to eat too and they can eat when they need it and when you eat. But it's not something that you need to have on at all times and it can be turned off in the MCM.They only have some differences so think about which one meets your fancy and go with that one.One last thing I feel I should shove onto you is to stop fast traveling, the game it so much better if you walk or ride around it.
It makes you pick your route and plan out your trips when you have realism mods on. Do I have enough clean water? Do I have enough food?
How cold is it going to be? Are there any inns near by or do I camp out for the night? Do I head for the nearest hold to take the carriage or should I just hoof it there? But that's just my opinion so feel free to take it with a grain of salt:D.
Special Edition will be getting a survival mode akin to the one for Fallout 4 that. The mode will be delivered by Skyrim Creation Club, Bethesda Game Studios. When it launches, it will be free for one week on all platforms — PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. Anyone downloading the mode in its first week can keep it and play it for free. After this one-week trial, however, it will be premium content. Bethesda Softworks hasn’t yet set a price for Survival mode after that.Skyrim Special Edition is the only version that has launched on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Owners of Skyrim and its DLC on Steam, or its Legendary Edition, were upgraded to the remastered version for free last year.Survival mode is currently in beta via Steam, and will come to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One early next month. It’s only for the special edition released last year on PC and those two consoles.
Survival mode will intensify the effects of the cold environment, require frequent rest and increase the necessity of cooking and eating food. It also disables fast travel, but even if you hire a carriage or boat to get where you’re going, you can arrive tired and hungry. The carry weight is significantly reduced, cutting down not only on the weapon options for a player but also on the loot one may carry, which will of course affect a player character’s bottom line. Leveling up only occurs after sleeping in a bed; so much for getting saved by that bell (with replenished hit points) in a tough fight with a giant or a pack of Falmer.
Health also will no longer regenerate over time, it can only be replenished by spells, food or potions.Survival mode has implications for vampirism and lycanthropy, if either are your jam in Skyrim. At any rate, the mode comprehensively toughens the experience in the land of the Nords, which of course deepens the role-playing choices. There are more details in.
